Abstract - A device, designed and built by NOAA's Integrated Systems Laboratory in conjunction with NOAA's Air Resources Laboratory, releases a nontoxic perfluorocarbon for downwind detection at various sensing locations. Project supervisor Roland Draxler, an ARL research meteorologist, explains that the data will be used to verify existing computer/analytic dispersion models.
